newspaper1946.jpgSome of the lucky 1.4 million Wii owners that are online can from Saturday browse through Wii News Channel for the latest news. Nintendo and Associated Press (AP) have made a two-year agreement where AP will provide news stories as well as photos to the Wii News Channel on a daily basis.

The channel is free, but the Wii Opera Browser is required in order to view the news. At the moment, the browser is free, but Nintendo will begin charging users for it in a few months.

Yeah it is actually pretty kool, considering it’s the news. I love the text zoom effect, and the fact that you can use the globe as well.

I gotta get my Wii connected to the Web soon. Man this stuff may not be all that useful but it sure is cool that it actually can be done and the Wii does it so well.
