   I hate to say it but EA defitely has a must own FPS title on it’s hands. Damn them.

   I don’t think the Mac Pro will be able to run this game Quartecks … definitely not the DX10 stuff so it won’t look as good as possible. Plus how will the Macs multicore cpus be seen by Crysis … are they now just intel cpus? I don’t keep up with Macs much anymore so forgive me if these questions seem noobish. But I think you definitely need a Windows PC (Vista preferrably) to run this game. Have the guys at Crytek said that this work on ANY Mac at all?

   Can anyone tell me if a windows vista capable graphics card can run this game its nvidia 6700 i think and i bought it just for this game but its not maxed out but should work, please tell me that this works for my card because i dont want to find out that i spent 200 bux on a graphics card for a game i cant run, cus I dont know if it needs direct x10 or if thats software or what.

   I don’t you are right about any Mac running Vista properly but I could be wrong. Have you heard anything about it or are you just assuming that it will be fine? So the Mac Pro is Intel based? Does it use the Core2 Duo CPUs? And again wouldn’t DX10 be a mitagating factor in Vista running as it should and therefore running Crysis? Also what DX10 cards would even work in the Mac? If there are none than that means by default DX10 is not supported in the Mac environment. I just do not think it as easy as you make it out to be. I think with Vista MS wants to make sure you CANNOT use a Mac to do the same things you can do in a Vista environment. But I am no expert so if you find some facts to back up what you have said please lay them on me.

   Josh … Crysis will work with WinXP and of course DX9 and DX9 based GPUs as well. At present there is only one DX10 capable GPU … the Nvidia 8800 series … so do not worry … most of us will start out running Crysis on DX9 hardware. Only a lucky few will be able to see Crysis as it was really meant to shine upon its release. There is going to be a lot of upgrading going on this year. From OSes to CPUs to GPUs.

   thanks man lol its good to know that my 200 dollars I could have spent to buy a wii did not end up getting wasted, id much rather play crysis.

    Macs can run Windows, Apple even wrote a program to do it. Macs dont have a bios like normal PC’s, they have an EFI chip (Extensible Firmware Interface) which is more advanced than a BIOS. So Apple wrote a program called Boot Camp which emulates a BIOS so Windows can run natively on an Intel based Macintosh. Currently Boot Camp officially supports only XP SP2, but there are ways to get Vista to work on it too.

    Mac Pros’s are very powerful computers, and I can fairly easily say they will be able to handle Crysis on maximum DX9 settings. You can always upgrade the card to a DX10 spec card too, the r600 will be out around about the same time Crysis comes out.

    Newegg has had Vista OEM since 1/21/07! Order it, here on second day after. Got Vista Home Premium Edition. Re-installed over my RC2 release. On my high end system took less than 15min., they fixed lots of things, but still resource heavy and I just turned off “User Account Control”! Price = $119 only things missing are direct MS support. If your a true techie, you can deal with that.

    If your not into connecting your X360 with Vista Media Center, and don’t use Business’s Encryption and Networking features, Home Premium Edition is fine! Ultimate then not worth extra bucks. Don’t expect to find anything to test out DX10 features for months. You can wait for a new GPU card, when prices come down some games come out. By then they will have more of the bugs ironed out between Aeroglass and Games too.

    Ran DXDIAG and reads my GPU as Nvidia 8800 GTX, 760 mg DDR3, supposed to 768mg but that’s approximate. BF2142 still a hog and you have to enable root access for it’s crapware to run. Online it’s still a very slow pig. MS Flight Sim runs nice and it was very smart of them to have setup run outside of the game. I still run most games in WinXP! Oh Ultimate runs $199!

    Retail is 4 times the price if you get Ultimate Retail! This is OEM!

    But I’m with you on Macs a Leopard in their future! But you still need a copy of Vista to run DX10 games when GPU’s get supported in Parallels on OS-X.

    Virtualization is the future for all Operating System. Then you’re covered on any program or OS. That the great thing in having any of the new chips from IBM, AMD, or Intel! They are all capable of supporting hardware virtualization with full access to USB, GPU, PCI-E, PCI, etc!

    …. All the stuff? Can yours make professional quality music using only the keyboard and mouse, for free with a program that comes with the system? How about HD movies? How about quality DVDs? Does it come with a photo album program? How about not having to use drivers for new harmdware? Does yours have Expose? Widgets? Dock? Spotlight?
