Epic’s Mark Rein Supports The PS3
January 30th, 2007 by Darren Stevens in Articles, Business, Software, Technology
Epic’s Vice President Mark Rein spoke to GameInformer where he gave Sony some credit (as opposed to Valve, Ubisoft and Atari), joining the club of few developers who have praised the machine.
Rein said he didn’t see Sony being in trouble, and wanted people to “give them a break”.
People, just give them a break for crying out loud. People think it’s bad if they can’t ship enough, and then they think it’s bad if they can ship enough. It’s like, which is it? Either they can’t fulfill your order or they can, and they’re both good.
He added that since the PS3 is in stock most places, people should go and just buy some.
Go out and buy your PS3 now. You can get one. That’s miraculous. They sold more PS3s in North America than Microsoft sold Xbox 360s in its same period of time, and they clearly aren’t going to have the shortage problems that Microsoft had.
I wonder what makes him say that. Wait, didn’t Epic sell a bunch of Unreal Engine 3 licenses to Sony last year? Yeah, they did. Go figure.

Wii with their news channel is trying to stay above Xbox 360 and PS3. Among men, initially, the Wii was popular because of its unique controllers. However, the tide has turned back to the other (2) game console systems. Women are still interested in the Wii.

Re: Armin SoJockaDic
Taints yet another story from the same person he has so praised. He needs to get his **** out of his mouth before talking ****!
The companies he mentions are just scared that with RapidMind, RSX, and Cell BE, Sony PS3 will leave his **** in the dirt, and the X360 with it!

Come to digitalbattle, we add in that extra bit of bias undertone in our posts. Stay for the dumbass people commenting on stuff they don’t understand just to bash Sony. Leave your sanity behind.

Seriously redslime, Sony is getting a hard time from everyone, and they deserve it. Even majoer news outlets are criticising it, Time magazine, Wall Street Journal and others.
Kudos to DigitalBattle and the other, albeit few blogs, that dare citisizing Sony, Microsoft, and even pretty boy Nintendo at times.

The fact of the matter is, Sony has earn this negative press. Not just for making such atrocious decisions with the PS3, but because they’ve proven in the past that they know better.

Meh, what I said was true. Sony demonstrated with the PS2 that they have the smarts to make an absolutley great system. GCN on the otherhand was horrible. If Sony had followed their trend with the PS3, it would have been in more of a position like Microsoft is now. Granted the Ps3 hasn’t been out that long so there is some time still to wait.
