Vista Goes On Sale

Microsoft’s new operating system Windows Vista has officially and finally, launched. It took them around 5 years, 6 billion dollars and numerous delays, but it’s finally here. Too bad gamers can’t expect much from it now, as there are no games supporting DirectX 10 yet. Company of Heroes will be the first game to support DX 10 with a patch, while Crysis, the most anticipated DX 10 title, is still at least 6 months away. In the future, Microsoft’s Live Anywhere service will make it possible to connect to Xbox Live using Vista, and playing against gamers on the Xbox 360 network.

As for the operating system, reviewers aren’t impressed, to say the least, as the new OS has been criticized for everything from DRM to licensing issues.

Of course it is, I just played the game and still confused it with the 1997 movie. Tanks for the heads up ;)

Nobody that I’vee talked to even knows what Vista is. This could easily be one Of Micrsofts last OSs. Everyone will say I’m crazy, but we’ll see.

I really wish that I could continue using XP, if only Dx10 worked on XP i don’t think I’d ever “up”grade. With all these restrictions put in place by MS I’ll be waiting a long time before being forced to upgrade.

  5. Quartecks Says:

geeettt OS Xxxxxxx……. Honestly though, you can have the freedom you want without all the price.

  6. Anuban Says:

I HAVE 16GB OF ECC REGISTERED RAM, AND A NEW CPU AND 8800GTX, CAN I RUN VISTA ON MY MACHINE??????? THX FOR ANY HELP!!!1!

  7. monir Says:

^why do you have soooo much ram, doubt you even need 4 gb, kind of wasted money there even if you have the money.

  8. Josh Says:

MS would probably consider that a threat to national security Anuban and take away your license to use Vista

  9. monir Says:

he’s a modder i think, so maybe he is a gfx artist.

saw vista in the shops today, £179 (if my memory isn’t screwed up), not a bad price compared to say, microsoft office, which is a rip off. i don’t really want it though because of all the security shit thats completly pointless and only helps the rich…as bloody usual.

  10. Monarky Says:

    NOT Anuban!

  11. Anuban Says:

Of course that is not me … someone is just using my username some kind of way and it would appear there is nothing I can do about it. I think it is pretty clear when I actually post something. I don’t talk in all CAPS and I don’t brag about my system which is not all that these days anyway.

  12. Quartecks Says:

I’m going to get 16 gigs of RAM, but then I’m an intense multitasker.
