I’m not talking about the content of your posts though, I stopped reading it after 4 lines out of fear for being bored to death.

I bought Formula One (import) off ebay and use the PSP as a rear view mirror. I can connect my PSP to my PS3 and play videos, games and music within a 500 foot radius of my home on intranet. Again something you can’t do with the Wii and DS yet! If I set my router up, it will connect to my PS3 world wide.

When I first bought the PS3, I wasn’t interested in movies, as I have a Pioneer DVD unit that seemed good enough for me. I put that Taledega Nights in and although the movie was crap, I was hooked. I now have bought 7 BD movies so far. I do have a nice 55″ Sony Bravia set that helps to show the PS3 in it’s best light.

I have owned two X360’s since launch. The first one after several BSOD’s and many freeze ups flashed me the “Error 71″ Death code the end of last April. After the 90day warranty was up! Didn’t have an extended warranty and still had 11 games, so I bought another one. In June of last year, with the heat of summer it too started acting up and the DVD drawer couldn’t make up it’s mind to stay in or pop out the tray, after putting a disk in. It was frustrating and the lack of good games (besides Oblivion) pushed to the brink of taking a hammer to it.

Eventually I decided to sell it on ebay before I saw that “Error 71 or some other code again. It’s gone thank God, but I still have some of the games in case they start selling a reliable 65nm chipped box like they said they would. Where is that thing?

So Ruined, I talk from experience, when I say the PS3 is much better than the X360. Not only in looks, but the Xross Media Bar won an Emmy and is much better and easier than Xblades. The RSX supports features we haven’t even seen yet, such as 128bit HDR lighting new shaders yet to be utilised that are just now being supported on Nvidia’s 8800 chips, and OpenGL v2.5 and v3.0!

The entire LCD revolution started with Sony’s vast technology forward thinking research lab. They were the first to utilise 3 led color diodes, high luminance back lighting that is fueling an entire revolution in the LCD market. Similiar to what the Trinitron did for tube type sets. Now at CES this year they introduced us to 50,000 use hour OLED screen and a TV that boasts an incredible picture. Is this our future? Getting to know Sony is like time warping into the future. They are that advanced in their thinking!

Whatever they do, they do with quality. That to me becomes more apparent everyday I own my Bravia HDTV and PS3! And you are the first one I’ve ever heard anything negative about their hardware, If you trully own these Sony Products, then maybe they’re not right for you! If your not happy with your PS3, I say sell it! Let somebody else enjoy it!

You’re kicking back against things I never said. I never said that HD-DVD was beating blu-ray, I said it was too early to say who the victor would BE. Not IS, but BE. Future tense. At the moment, Blu-Ray is selling better than HD-DVD off the back of the PS3, not necessarily because it is a better (or worse) format, but because more people have the capacity to use it. The HD-DVD has not been adopted at large because the 360 did not include a player; a bad move by microsoft.

And I never said Sony was stupid to include a Blu-Ray player. It was a very clever move. Indeed, what you fail to understand is that I do think the PS3 is going to be a powerful piece of hardware, and could well be the winner, as any of the consoles could be at this stage. It’s too early to support any side to ‘win’ because the PS3 hasn’t even launched worldwide yet, and each console is at a different stage of release. My original points were that you manage to talk absolute bullshit without any semblance of rational thought further than ‘the PS3 is awesome, anyone who doesnt agree with me entirely is the suck.’ Note that I never said the PS3 is poorly designed in any way, shape or form. I suppose I should have mentioned that I own a wii, 360, PS2 and am buying a PS3 soon after launch. To repeat myself again (or ‘PS3peat!’ as you so quaintly put it) I do not think the PS3 is going to be bad, I do not care or pretend to know which console is going to win, what I DO care about is such utter tools as yourself ruining the run-up to launch day with your constant shit about how the PS3 is going to ‘ownz0r’ any other consoles.

To reiterate and condense; The PS3 is not going to suck. What sucks is the Sony PR machine failing so spectacularly, with poor launches (not in terms of sales figures, in terms of organisation of the event) and moronic fanboys like you ranting on about the PS3 like a nine year old.

VHS to DVD there was a huge difference so it was a worthwhile upgrade. For most people DVD is good enough quality and without a HD Tv there is little if no point at all in a HD format. Incidentally under 10% of people in the westernised world have a HD ready tv so its not exactly a must-have.

Of course someone will argue its future proofing and in 5 years etc everyone will use Blu Ray. However, the way the internet is advancing id be surprised in 5 years if we don’t have fast enough net connections to stream / download DVD quality movies and play them through our TV. If this picks up then movie formats are dead anyway. Look at the Mp3 market vs CDs now.

Finally anyone who had a PS2 (myself included) will know it was a shit cheap DVD player with poor reproduction of colours and little functionality. Its not Sony’s fault its just what has to be if you want to include a DVD player in a console for a reasonable price. PS3 BR player will be the same, if you are really enough of a movie buff to think BR is a must have then for gods sake buy one of Sony’s decent players not the cheap and nasty integrated unit in PS3.

By the way Monarky do you have a PS3 yet? Ive had one since Japanese launch and was disappointed with it. I know Doom is in for a rude awakening when he actually gets one as I certainly over hyped myself and was let down by it.

That leap frogging is taking place right now fool! BD players and movies are selling at almost a 3 to 1 ratio over HD-DVD and that like I’ve stated is just in North America and Japan. Though it’s compared to the world wide sales of HD-DVD products.

So naturally if you are including a bargain basement BD player in the PS3, it’s going to be bought for just that, with the gaming part as an extra benefit. Sony was smart to tie the BD player into the PS3, which will be proven even if your puny mind fails to comprehend it at this point.

Even Mark Rein of Epic stated that the egg fryer X360 has sold far less in the same time as the PS3! Now 9 out of 11 analysts are still predicting PS3 for a 3 Peat. It wil be closer but still a walk in the park for the machine that is Sony! So you can go sit in corner and say “I will not hate Sony” 50 thousand times and you’ll be forgiven.

I clearly stated that the initial supply will be bought up quickly buy the hardcore fans, but shortly after supply will begin to substantially exceed demand, as the majority of casual gamers are simply unwilling to pay such a high price, blu-ray or not, as I also stated before that no-one is hedging their bets for fear of picking the betamax of this generation. Again, I’m not saying the blu-ray is going to win or lose, but the PS3 having an included player *at this stage in the race* does not increase its value to the ‘casual’ punter, who will wait to decide which format is better. Rather than buying one now just because it comes with a console attached and finding out a year or two down the line they’ve wasted £425.

And, are you really suprised the wii is outselling the core 360? No-one wants the core 360 the same way no-one wants the 20GB PS3, the top-range packages are far more worth the money you pay for them, comparitive to their respective lower-spec options. Plus, is it any suprise a console that launched 2 or 3 months ago at a very low price for a brand new next-gen console that is aimed at ALL demographics is outselling one that has been out for several months and centers mostly on the 16-25 ‘hardcore’ gamers? If the wii had been released at the price and time the 360 was and vice-versa, the 360 would be outselling the wii right now. Not because one is better than the other, its just simple economics.

And I do believe no-one cares about ‘native games.’ PGR3 had London stages, and I don’t think that made it any more or less attractive to British gamers. It’s the gameplay that makes a game, not national pride.

And regarding the exchange rates, reduced value of US currency is no suprise when you’re waging a war, especially one that is supported very little outside the US, apart from the governments of countries such as England feeling pressued into aiding by the ‘if you aren’t with us you’re against us.’ sentiment. While America having occupying troops over there does not bother me in the slightest, they’re your troops, its your war, and its your choice. I can assure you that very few British citizens feel the war is at all justified, and our current PM is regarded as being somewhat spineless and useless by most because of his poor decisions to send our troops over there.

The significance isn’t that Sony is Nintendo’s bitch in Japan as well as America at the moment. It is that a typically pro-Sony market has snubbed the PS3.

Look at analyst predictions pre-launch, they all thought PS3 would thrash Wii in Japan. Its definately not what was expected
