Sony Confirms Wipeout For The PS3

wipeout.jpgSony’s studio at Liverpool, England, has confirmed that a Wipeout game for the PS3 is in development. The futuristic racer first appeared on the original PlayStation, and has been a legend ever since. The game appeared on the PS2 and most recently on PSP in form of Wipeout Pure, easily one of the best PSP games to date. Sony Liverpool didn’t reveal anything other than the game will use the Sixaxis motion controls and will feature downloadable content.

    I would like to see this game, I enjoyed the original wipeout for psone. I would like to see it in HD as well…

    Wipeout was so cool, the best game I played on the PSOne. I got the console at launch and bought Wipeout, not knowing what it was (never heard of it, or read about it). I was blown away and played at least 10 hoursa a day for a long time :) Never bothered to pick it up for the PS2 or PSP… just didn’t feel like the same thing.

    i played it on PSOne, i would own my siblings with that plasma gun, or whatever that wicked weapon was. the game had some cool powerups as well.

    2097 was awsome, doing perfect laps with the piraña was eye-ripping!!! Wipeout are fun fast arcade racers… I like!!!

    Sounds like I missed a fun racing game … well when I finally get my PS3 I will definitely have to check it out.
