Downloads To Be Included In Game Charts
February 9th, 2007 by George Lester-Pearson in Business
With the music industry taking the change, and allowing digital downloads to place in the charts, it was only a matter of time before other industries followed suit. MVC reports that Chart Track is going to include downloadable games in the official UK charts.
“We’re some way off downloads becoming a big part of the business, but it’s coming,” said ChartTrack’s Dorian Bloch. “And part of our mission statement is to follow the market wherever it goes.”
It seems at first that this will relate to the downloading of pc games from manufacturers websites, as Chart Track needs the data from the format holders, before they can keep records of downloaded games for the different consoles.
