First Euro PS3 Owners Getting Free 007
February 12th, 2007 by Darren Stevens in Business
Sony has announced that the first 500,000 Europeans to register their PS3 account on the PlayStation Network will receive a free copy of Casino Royale 007, the latest James Bond movie.
The free Blu-ray movie will play back in 1080p using a 50 GB dual-layer Blu-ray disc, perfect opportunity for Sony to promote the technology. Sony had a similar offer for the U.S. PS3 owners, where the first 400,000 received a copy of Talladega Nights.

Well at least the European PS3 owners get a good solid action movie with their Blu-ray player. Funny though I would think you would want to attract more gamers and get them onboard with the PS3 plan. I think they would move more units if they included a free copy of Resistance Fall of Man but I guess they don’t want to really make gamers feel all that special. Still it would be a great deal.

Good idea. Too bad it launched to early to do the same in America.

This is a great offer, but only a tiny winy percentage of Europeans have a 1080p set. They’re just begun selling them here. Anyway, I’d much rather have 007 than the crap movie known as talladega nights.

I’m going to buy one because it comes with the movie.
