Blu-ray Won The War (Says Sony)

With Blu-ray discs outselling HD-DVD discs by a factor of 2:1 for the month of January, Sony is confident enough to declare that the war is over and proclaim Blu-ray as the winner. Kinda like when George W. Bush declared America “winning” the war in Iraq three years ago.
Blu-ray outsold HD-DVD because many new titles were released in January, titles that were already available on the HD-DVD format for months. The only way of comparing the two will be when a movie is released simultaneously on both formats, like the recently released Babel and The Departed. Expect the first sales results in a week or two.
