Gaming ‘Myths’ Busted

cover_lg.jpgCall it wrong, or call it right, but the dudes at GamePro have confused ‘myth’ with ‘misconception’. They have posted an article that takes a look at various ‘Myths’ of gaming, including the famous debate of whether 1080i looks better than 720p. Here’s a bit from their confused expose:

MYTH: Porn will settle the next-gen DVD war.
Puhh-lease. As important as adult films were in trailblazing the home videocassette movement in the 70s and 80s, porn is hardly a kingmaker. In fact, if you judge by recent sales data showing Blu-ray soaring ahead of HD-DVD, it looks like video game systems like the PlayStation 3 will do more to settle the next-gen DVD war than mere smut.

It also talks about the LCD-CRT debate that has been going on for quite a while now, as well as the VGA-component battle. What sort of misconceptions did you have before this? Personally, I always thought more RAM meant a better system…

GamePro? They’re still around? I don’t think anyone would listen to them anymore anyways.

lies… porn will effect more than people are willing to manage… but judging by the fact that they recently took HD-DVD’s side… it will be a while before it gets going… kinda like how it was a while for Sony to fix up the blu-ray stuff

But Porn can blind you, if viewed the wrong way or at the wrong time. Games or football have never been responsible for guys getting a black eye or in worst case senario, concusion blindness from being struck with a blunt object. Woman have been known to get a lot more jealous of porn than even beer and Football Sunday.

Porn will be on both formats! Vivid already announced that!!!
