MTV recently had a chance to speak with Nintendo’s Reggie Fils-Aime, and ask some of the questions that many games have been pondering about since the Wii was launched.
When asked why there are still shortages of Wii consoles, Reggie responded by saying that they manufactured 4 million consoles last year, but the delays were caused by packaging and delivery issues. He added that a million Wii consoles are manufactured every month.
They also spoke about Metroid Prime 3, where Reggie said it will be “a perfect FPS experience”, but didn’t mention when the game will be released. The was was originally scheduled for released in Q1 2007, but that’s unlikely at this point. As Reggie puts it; “we’re being very strategic when we’re going to launch them [first party games]. And we’re making sure our licensees enjoy success on their titles and that the spacing makes sense.”

3No, what it is is a smart way of saying the games aren’t going to be done for a while. Until MP3 and Galaxy come out, asuming they release before Brawl, the only exceptionally good game so far for Wii is Twilight Princess.

4Why doesn’t Nintendo add an extra year to their estimates? Then they could still be early if they have to delay the games.
