Eidos Interactive has announced that it is opening a studio in Montreal; it will create around 350 jobs over the next few years. The new studio is being headed by Stephane D’Astous and will work on “undisclosed next-generation projects.”
“I’m really delighted to be joining Eidos who deserve their worldwide recognition for some fantastic games. I look forward to establishing a brand new studio that will continue this legacy and develop AAA, next-generation titles that will demonstrate once again the expertise and knowledge we have in Montreal,” said D’Astous.
The SCi Entertainment-owned games publisher has also opened two other studios in the past year: Eidos Sweden and Hungary; they also have other internal studios, including Crystal Dynamics and Danish based IO Interactive.
Montreal is also host to other large-scale studios from publishers such as Ubisoft and EA, as well as others.
