Trade the Past, Play the Future!

February 20th, 2007 Posted in Business, Hardware, Nintendo DS, PSP, Portable by Gibran Nawaz

Even the retailers are now turning their backs on the PSP, as a post on NeoGAF shows an EBGames advertisement of a trade-in promotion. The ad states that the Nintendo DS, Playstation Portable, and Gameboy Advance SP are the past, and that the DS Lite is the future. Funny as it may look, the ad does hold some truth to it. With the DS Lite’s sales leading the charts for almost a year now, there is no reason to think that the marketing at EBGames would make any big difference.

There are still a few promising titles to be released on Sony’s portable, and there are a few must have titles for the platform. The PSP is still doing good, mostly because of its multimedia support, and of course all the homebrew emulations and apps that are available.
