Burnout Dominator PS2 Preview Roundup

February 25th, 2007 Posted in Action, Driving, PlayStation 2

Burnout Dominator PS2 BoxartAnyone that is a Burnout fan and anyone that only has a PlayStation 2 or PSP should know that Burnout Dominator is coming out on March 6, 2007. The Burnout service of games has always been know for its fast racing and wild crashes and Burnout Dominator is no exception.

Instead of recovering ground already covered by IGN, Gamespot and others I thought I would do a twist on Review Roundup with a preview roundup.

IGN: “A throwback to the Burnout days of old, Dominator focuses on pure racing rather than some of the more extraneous things that have been introduced to the series lately. ”

GameSpot: “The upcoming game introduces some promising new features to the mix, but it also does away with some existing ones, at least one of which you might sorely miss. The result, as far as we can tell after spending a few hours with the game, is a highly distilled Burnout that concentrates on doing what the series has always done best while making a few sacrifices along the way.”

1UP: “From what we’ve seen so far, Dominator doesn’t feel like much more than an expansion to Burnout Revenge — “Burnout 4.5,” if you will. Dominator is a similar-looking, similar-feeling game with more taken out than added or improved upon. It’s hard for Burnout to be anything less than satisfying addictive racing.”

Looks like the general consensus is that Burnout Dominator is a good game but seems to be geared towards the original fans of the series.

less content? oh wait EA, no surprise. burnout was amazing until the repetitvness of each game wore thin, they hardly added anything in their games, and this one seems to be their worst one.

  2. Robert Says:

monir, not sure I would say worst one as I would have to reserve that comment before playing the game. What I will say from what I have read in these previews is that this game would be more suited as an add-on back to a game then a full release.

Since Burnout 5 is in development for the next gen consoles I have a feeling this title didn’t get the TLC it deserved. Being published/developed by EA didn’t help much I am sure.

Hey Robert nice post, I have to upgrade to this version

  4. Jim2k Says:

What happened to DB? Things look messed up since the old staff left… Some articles are posted twice and apparently no one noticed…

  5. Paul Says:

Hi Jim yes the guys left are server problems, which post are duplicates?

  6. Jim2k Says:

the guys left are server problems? What? I know they left… The duplicate posts were posted by different authors who don’t pay attention… way to go.

  7. Paul Says:

    Where are the duplicates??

  8. Paul Says:

I have about 20 sites i try to monitor them all it can be difficult, I rely on managers for smooth operation, don’t worry I will sort everything out. Don’t worry we just don’t have a manager right now , we will soon, i’m doing my best i can

  9. Alex Says:

Paul you sound pretty desparate. Especailly since the old team left. I wonder why…

  10. Robert Says:

Jim, Alex, can we keep it civil? Paul is doing his best under difficult circumstances, there is a new team posting content, it will take time for everything to get into groove of things.

wow, you guys are a bit harsh.
