Moore Praises Nintendo, New Controller?
February 26th, 2007 by Gibran Nawaz in Business, Hardware, Rumor, Xbox360
Peter Moore, head of Microsoft’s Interactive Entertainment Business division, was giving an interview to GameInformer. When asked about attracting the casual scene, Moore praised Nintendo on their job of bringing back fun. He had also hinted about something else that could be announced in a month or two. It was also revealed that Microsoft’s initial strategy has also been planned many years in advance. Maybe this is an indication of a new controller for the Xbox 360; possibly motion-sensing? Microsoft’s console is currently losing to the Wii in terms of recent sales, so it wouldn’t be too outrageous to reveal some sort of “innovation” to increase sales.

Do they know haw BADLY that would backfire? Copying Apple is one thing, but if they tried motion sensing on the 360 we would see the supposed invincibility of Microsoft light itself on fire and jump out a building window.

copy apple? haha horseshit! Bill didnt copy anyone man. I hate when ppl say that. And for the record, i dunno. Maybe they should make it where u can plug and play with a mouse and keyboard. CUz if u could i would give up pc gaming in a heartbeat.

Mr. Moore isn’t a bad guy, give him a break, he can’t talk up (complement)his competitors to often, would not be good for business.
Also note, that since day one Microsoft has said it might do a motion sensing controller if it proved market worthy, and with the early success of the Nintendo Wii maybe they think its the time.
Though they have also said they wanted to avoid fumbles Sony, Sega, and others have had introducing new First Party controlers after launch.

I wonder if “something else that could be announced in a month or two” is another $100+ add on…
Or maybe it could be the handheld that they kept denying about.
