Capcom Licenses Unreal Engine

February 27th, 2007 Posted in Business

Japanese developer and publisher, Capcom, has announced that they have licensed the Unreal Engine 3. The current title in question is unknown, but we all know it will look graphically pleasing. Epic Games’ Unreal engine has recently been licensed by many top video game developers.

“More than just a graphics engine, UE3 will empower the development team to create the quality experience that gamers expect from a Capcom product,”

Some notable games using the engine include Gears of War, Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six: Vegas, and of course, Unreal Tournament 3. A game like Resident Evil 5 using the engine would definitely be interesting. Expect more announcements from Capcom soon.
