Halo Wars Upcoming Status

March 1st, 2007 Posted in Strategy, Xbox 360

Ensemble Studios has released an early build of their real-time-strategy game, Halo Wars, to certain people within Microsoft. A forum post on the official Halo Wars forums tells of the impressions a Microsoft staff member had.

“By all accounts the Microsoft gang had a good time with the game and was quite impressed with its current state. We’ve got a long way to go still, but it’s very encouraging when a group like this can sit down and have fun beating the hell out of each other so far from any ship date.”

The finalized retail game will be out on the Xbox 360 sometime in the future. Let’s hope the game lives up to the first person shooter.

I think the thing that made Halo such a fun game was both the multi player and the immersiveness (which apparently isn’t a word), I find it hard to believe that they could generate the same style in a realtime strategy.

Halo wasn’t that great, Halo 2 was flat out disappointing, it’s only the hype it has to “live up to”
