New Odd PS3 Commercial
March 5th, 2007 Posted in Business, PlayStation 3, Video

I didn’t quite understand it myself, but apparently what I saw was a Playstation3 commercial. It’s clear that Sony Computer Entertainment Europe is trying something new, with intuitive marketing, but I don’t see how this would help sell even a single console. But then again, maybe I am just not an expert on commercials. You can watch the commercial on the thisisliving ad campaign website, or alternatively watch the YouTube version after the jump.

what in the world was that!!! i didn’t even see the console in that advert, if i wasn’t told it was a ps3 ad i would’ve thought it was either a football ad, an ad for a brothel, or even a hotel.

It shows a briefcase full of money getting blown up – is that a metaphor?

^probably a metaphor for blowing your money, or wasting.

… what the hell?
there is probably some secret meaning I didn’t catch, the whole thing looked like some crazy movie trailer to me. If all of Sony’s advertisements were like this they probably wouldn’t be doing too well at the moment. Nobody would know what was trying to be sold to them!

It might as well be an ad for the Wii, it’s probably selling more people on them anyway.
