1UP’s Bizarro has a copy of God of War 2, and right on the back of the instruction manual is a fun surprise. It looks like God of War 2 which has been rumored for the PSP is now confirmed. According to the manual, the PSP version is set for sometime in 2007, and could potentially mark another huge hit for the portable that could. After last week’s Japan sales figures, the PSP might not quite be as doom and gloom as everyone thought it would be.

2God of War 2 is not coming for the PSP anytime in the next two to three years. Maybe God of War but definitely not God of War 2 as the article says. God of War 2 is ONLY for PS2 and PS3 (BC). I don’t see how anyone can play that game on a PSP unless they seriously dumb it down given the grand scope of the game and the huge boss fights. Plus some of the puzzles seem like they would be extremely difficult to pull off. But good luck if they do really bring the full version to the PSP and not some crippled version.

4I doubt it’ll be called God of War 2 though.. lord only knows we don’t need another PS2 hand-me-down. But if they can provide a different adventure for the PSP that ties into the story lines of the console versions, then this could possibly be another killer title for the PSP INDEED!
It aint over, nintendopes! (diabolical laughter)

6A simplified port? Wouldn’t you rather play it on the console it was originally designed for?

7I just don’t see how a game of this magnitude can be enjoyed on anything other that a TV (big screen preferably but not necessarily HD) with great 5.1 sound to back it up. Part of the game’s appeal was the audio and sense of grandeur. But cool for PSP owners I suppose.

8Maybe they will make a Castlevania side scroller Rip and slap the God Of War franchise on it… hell I would, I think that would be cool :/

10Anuban you are right!!!
Just played through the first time and no way you could ever enjoy God of War II on the PSP! The first game was great and won Game of the Year, but this (if posible) is twice as good as that! I was floored from the first battle on, it’s just so freaking intense and never lets up till the end!!! Spectacular!!!
Everybody even if you just rent a PS2 console and this game for 3 days, DO IT! You won’t regret it!!!

11Seems like a pretty kool game. Not for PSP though.. Tiny screen = doesn’t feel immersive enough.
