Half Life 2: Episode 2 to be Longer

March 10th, 2007 Posted in FPS, PC

Half Life 2: Episode 2 may be delayed until Fall, but it is not without good news. It turns out that you can expect more content from the second installment, about two more hours in total, jf you based the first episode on taking six hours to complete. In addition, the overall development cycle is shrinking, meaning less time should be expected for the final episode.

“Episode 1 was about six hours of gameplay, and Episode 2 will be closer to eight hours of gameplay, Episode 1 took 18 months to complete and Episode 2 will end up being about 13 to 14 months, so we’re trimming it down.”

I guess this is supposed to justify why this episodic content is so damn late. Ummpph … I still am in no hurry to give Valve more of my money … although Portal looks like a ton of fun.

shit ill just download this shit

I’m actually not thrilled it is taking them less time to do more… Doesn’t the less amount of time it takes to make a game usually mean poor quality?

  4. Josh Says:

Wow “The Wicker Man” that’s a great way to ensure Valve will put more money into developing future games.

Oh and Evander, I agree, the people who are screaming for them to release Ep2 are the same ones who would turn around and scream at them for releasing an unfinished game if Valve did.
I’m quite happy waiting, life doesn’t hinge on my next HL experience.
