God of War PSP Confirmed, First Details
March 13th, 2007 by Rajiv Ashrafi in Action, PSP, Portable
Already revealed earlier via a blog post on IGN, Cory Barlog and Ready at Dawn officially announced the development of God of War on PSP. This was done at the God of War II launch event which Sony just held.
According to Barlog, the game will be original and will “flesh out” the story of the PS2 games. “It is epic. It is big. There are hooks in the PSP story that I actually wrote from one of my first stories for God of War 2, so there are a lot of elements - we’re going to keep connecting all this stuff,” he said. “To me, it’s a persistent world… I want the PSP version to not feel like the PSP version… it’s just as big. It’s just as epic. It’s God of War.”
Barlog also talked about PS2/PSP/PS3 connectivity, stating that it “sounds awesome” but that they don’t have any concrete details at the moment. He also said that the game will not reuse any levels from the first two games, but will be wholly original.
No screenshots, trailers or other details were disclosed at the event.
