Linden Lab blocked new registrations to Second Life for several hours on Wednesday, with a message that it was “jam-packed”, now the company says it was an error.
The message was automatically generated in an error, and the message was made to step in if the traffic exceeded the servers limit. The message yesterday was an error, the servers was not overexceeded.
Early Wednesday, the site displayed this message:
“Sorry, we’re currently jam-packed, to ensure the best possible experience for all of our Residents, we are temporarily limiting new account registrations. There’s been a huge influx of new Residents into Second Life and we are working hard to keep up with the demand.”
But within a few hours, Second Life publisher Linden Lab had retracted the message and said it was a technical error. In the meantime, however, Second Life just keeps on growing. If you want to join, you might want to do it soon.

1They won’t stop registrations, ever, as long as there’s money they’ll continue to upgrade and get more servers, until the entire WORLD is on Second Life! Seriously.
