Sony CEO: ‘Wii is wonderful’

Cheif Executive Officer of Sony, Howard Stringer, had some comments about the video games industry and the current status of his company.

“Wii is a wonderful device, but has a different target audience. If we fail, it is because we positioned PS3 as the Mercedes of the video game field. PS3 is after a different audience and it can be whatever it wants - a home server, game device, even a computer.”

Wait a second, did he just say that the Playstation 3 might actually fail? That’s some great confidence in your own product, Mr. Stringer. There was no mention of the other competitor, the Xbox 360. The PS3 wont fail completely, it’s just going to do horribly until A) the price drops, and B) technology (mainly HD) catches up. The reverse will happen with Wii. It’s going to do great until about the last two years when even the non gamers find it to be just flat out too low tech.

D) I can buy this anywhere from any store and the console only been out for 3 months. No wait! 2 months when it came regular for people to find them everywhere in stores :P. They lost this time, everyone says it they lost. Nobody wants to spend 600 on a system they invested to much in blu ray for the format instead of the games themselves.

E) It’ll pick up but will take so long where the xbox and wii will blow it out of the water. You can buy a 360 and a wii for the same price for the cost of the ps3. I think many people are gonan end up rolling with the 360 for the graphics end and wii for the gameplay. Honestly, the wii might fail :\. I have proof on this, i have 3 friends that bought it. All 3 of them couldnt wait to buy it and bought it etc. Now its just collecting dust :\

I think the console war will still between the ps3 and 360 and for the gaming world those 3 ps3,360,and computer. The wii, no 1 doesnt have a good selection of gamez. But, there’s a great side of this. Nintendo made gaming huge besides the 80’s atari and shit but nintendo basically made this happen.

I see this being something big int he future where all the consoles will have something similar to it(somekind of controller like the wii). I still think its funny “if we fail” LOL that guy should be shit canned!
