75% of European PS2 Games Backwards Compatible

March 20th, 2007 by Gibran Nawaz in Hardware, PlayStation 2, PlayStation 3

Sony has launched a website that lists all of the games that are backwards compatible with the European PS3. The list will be effective as of Thursday when the 1.6 firmware update is released. The website boasts a high number of titles playable, nearing 75%. Many of the titles, however, have issues. Some of those games include Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas, Metal Gear Solid, and Guitar Hero. Atleast they are somewhat playable, but a note at the end of the page says to skip CG sequences due to graphical bugs. The percentage of titles playable (to a certain degree) are greater than that of the Xbox 360, but the quality of the games might overweigh the numbers.
