360 to Support Blu-Ray?

In an interview with Neil Thompson, it was revealed that Microsoft is going to support which ever next-generation format wins, including the Blu-Ray.
“Whatever format wins it is highly likely we will offer a solution. The only debate is if you want to watch Blu-ray movies and pay the extra money for that feature. We prefer to offer the consumer choice.”
That would mean that Microsoft would have to release an add-on piece of hardware, similar to the HD-DVD player, to play Sony’s movie discs. That would be a major win on Sony’s side, but it definitely will not outweight the losses the PS3 is suffering.

Sony will probly just take both formats with the ps4, probly a hybrid hddvd/bluray.

Haha no way Josh! No way! It’ll be retarded to so cuz sony owns blu ray.Blu ray is the major format for sony with movies. I hate the ps3, its the same as the 360 and so far the 360 has the same gamez. Im a pc gamer but looking for a 360 or ps3 to game on for sportz titles. I was gonna buy a ps3 for the blu ray in it to play movies. I love how MS gives u a choice on what u want to play cuz in charts ppl = gamerz dont care for the blu ray or hd dvd add on.
Now, some do i think 2 mill sold out of a 11 mill… Even tho thats a tiny tiny number they still made happy costumers and some money. People dont realize you dont need blu ray for the next gen gamez. The games arent even that big for the disc yet. The pc is a much bigger machine which u need powerful parts to run top of the line games.
I remember 6 months ago 300 gb hard drive was the shit all big and bad. Now, its kinda small like a 40 gb to the games at that hard drives time period. The games are yes gonna be around 7-10 gbs but I dont see them going to blu ray 25 gbs size. Shit, rainbow six vegas was only 4.5 gbs big. However, for the next consoles coming out the xbox3 and ps4 the blu ray would be perfect cuz i see gamez maybe being that big! Cuz look at ut3 and crysis OMFG and alan wake.
Overall I love how MS doesnt overcharge for something just to game on. If u like movies like me than just buy the add on to have it. Either way people, the ps3 if ur a sony fan is such a great deal. The player itself is what? 1100 dollars where u get the console basically a computer that would feel wierd sitting on ur couch.
People dont realize how much these things cost to build and when I see people cry about how much these things cost if they knew. So u take the 360 right? alright the add on blu ray/hd dvd is $1100,512DDR3 $200,crossfire ati 1900 $500,20gb something like 20 bucks,the sound card $100,motherboard $150…comes out to 2070.
You guys realize ur saving so much money… the only I cant agree with companies is that games shouldnt cost 60 dollars.
