Dead Rising and Lost Planet to Remain on 360
March 26th, 2007 Posted in Business, PlayStation 3, Wii, Xbox 360

There’s been a lot of games that have been losing their exclusivity in the past days, and several that have been reconfirmed not to be. People have been speculating that since Capcom decided to make this game multi-platform, what other ideas do they have up their sleeves?
Christian Svennson, senior director of strategic planning and research for Capcom, has said in the official message boards that Dead Rising and Lost Planet are going to stay on the Xbox 360. He then later continues to say that the marketing strategy for release on more than one console is something for new titles such as Resident Evil 5 and Devil May Cry, and the same won’t be seen for older games.

Well I do not know if this is going to matter … the PS3 seems to have found a real home in Europe despite this. All this means is that 360 fanboys who like to talk crap will say some things to get PS3 fanboys annoyed and the stupid fighting about exclusive titles will begin. But I do have to say that it really appears to me that the PS3 needs to do something to get more hot titles on their console. Oblivion was just released so no doubt this really helped drive the sales in Europe. The strong showing is definitely due to the fact that more/better games are available now than were at the USA and Japan launches. As a 360 owner I am a little glad that these titles are exclusives but really it doesn’t matter as long as they remaim a part of the 360’s future. It is interesting decision on Capcom’s part but if at some point in the future demand is great enough and the installed base large enough for Capcom then expect them to change their mind or at least have PS3 versions of the sequels for each game.

Fuck you capcom. You steal the exclusitivity of dmc4 from the ps3 because you want to make money? Fine. You decide not to port 2 great games over to the ps3 to make even more money? FUCK YOU!!! No, DOUBLE FUCK YOU!!! All capcom is is just a bunch of douchebag fanboys, theyre starting to move in the asshole EA direction. One more thing, FUCK YOU CAPCOM!

Yeah, this doesn’t seem to make too much sense when it comes to wanting to make more money… If the PS3 is doing well now after the UK launch wouldn’t they want to take advantage of it? Or maybe they’re just lazy and don’t want to try to make these games for the PS3…
But don’t companies make deals in order to get or keep exclusives?

In this instance I think MS has something to do with the titles not being ported to the PS3 … maybe they paid off Capcom really well. I dunno but I do agree that this does fly in the face of what they just did with DMC4. It is strange and if I had a PS3 only I would be ticked off. I would think that after the Euro launch there would be enough of an installed base out there to make porting the titles worthwhile.

C’mon Capcom. RE5, DMC4, GTA4. Where’s our exclusivity. The way it’s going they’ll probably release those titles on XBOX fist. C’mon sony reward your loyal fans with some games we want to play.
