PS3 600,000 Sold on European Launch

March 27th, 2007 Posted in Business, Hardware, PlayStation 3

With the PS3 breaking records in the United Kingdom, we have received the numbers for the whole launch event in all of Europe. Sony shipped one million units of their system, and 600,000 were sold. Total sales for America are at 930,000 about 720,000 for Japan. That means sales for Europe have nearly completely caught up with their counterparts. Maybe the PS3 will grab first place in Europe?

It doesn’t really make that much sense. The launch parties were TINY. This doesn’t reflect correctly.

Maybe that guy was right, the UK have more money to spend on things like this than the US.

Of course they’re selling more, it’s the launch. They had more available because they’ve been producing them for a much longer time. If this were also the case for the other two, then it would be significant, but chances are things will level off like they did in the US. If they don’t… we’ll see.

It’s not better. It’s not worse. But so far it doesn’t have much of a game lineup.
