Elite Freebies

March 29th, 2007 Posted in Xbox 360

Everyone likes free things. Sometimes it is arguable when something is free, or you are just paying a high price point and they use “free” things to justify the purchase. Either way, the 360 Elite feature a bigger Hard Drive and a whole lot more freebies thrown into the bunch. For those new to the Xbox scene, the amount of content packs a punch, while those merely updating consoles may not be as impressed. Make the jump to see the free content!

Still feel like i got suckered into buying the inferior “Premium” 360…

You just have to be careful that you backup your 20gig hard drives to your PC before using that transfer cable with the 120gig drive.

Why? MS is throwing a new proprietary “copy once, transfer once”, file system at us! It then cleans your old drive after the transfer. So in essence, we’re fucked! This is no joke!!!

Anything transfered to that new harddrive is automatically protected and only goes one direction! OFF! It will have a protected backup image utility to keep your er.. their files safe. You will be able to transfer the compressed images to your PC for safe keeping, but that’s it! Any pirated ISO’s will be destroyed! Only authorized game ISO’s will survive and they will be encryped to run only on your Xbox 360!

Those are wonderful “Freebees” don’t you think?

So robby1051 be thankful you have the original Premium 360 that can still be hacked and hasn’t flipped you the ring of fire!

    Sorry,

I had two burn up on me! Now I will just wait till they for sure have the 65nm chip out. The way things are going the PS3 could have it’s 65nm chip out first. But I’m fine with the PS3 I have. Zero problems with it and I either play a little Resistance online or Motorstorm online everyday lately. Plus others!

Working on my second run of God of War II and that is an awesome game. Just got the 2k Sports MLB demo download tonight and it looks great on PS3. Bought PS3 Oblivion and no comparison, it’s the best release of any of the platforms (even PC). Motorstorm online is great too, but been checking out “Dirt” and that should be a great game. I think the PS3 will be much better.

It’s all over the news how disapointed people are with this Elite! So that’s three boners in a row for Microsoft. Zune is a miserable flop. Vista sales were recently seen as mostly to OEM’s not retail customers. They doubt if they have a third of the installs to licenses out MS’s doors. I’ve abandoned my Vista install!!!

Now we have the Elite that is not so elite with enough DRM and malware to stuff a pig. Things are not looking good for MS lately!!!

I would expect Oblivion to look better on the PS3 … damn the game is over a year old so really what is the big deal. The new expansion pack for the 360 looks better than the original as well. It’s like GRAW and GRAW 2 … sure there are visual improvements and upgrades but it is not dramatically different. Anyway it is cool that PS3 owners are finally starting to get some truly good games … F.E.A.R. will also be hitting the PS3 soon and I think there are some more existing 360 titles that the PS3 will soon get … maybe some as sequels like Full Auto 2 … so yes the race is almost starting to become interesting … finally. But make no mistake about it … the PS3 needs more really good exclusive titles (which I hear are coming … and not soon enough frankly).

Meanwhile MS needs to find a way to appease folks with 360 premiums … especially people who bought theirs within the last 3-4 months. Man I know there are some really angry consumers … I mean MS should have just stated that it was coming out with this instead of denying it time and time again and saying that the 360 was already HD ready. Again time will tell … I am curious to see the breakdown in sales numbers between Elites and Premiums and Sony’s top model. The next several months in the console wars are going to be very interesting indeed.

Yea Anuban, I think if people complain enough MS will have to respond with getting the 65nm chip out the door and appeasing the people who have bought the 360 Premiums. So in that way the negatives in the news are good for 360 fans.

Full Auto 2 is out for PS3! I have been playing the Demo for weeks. Dirt looks good too!

As to Oblivion! I have the PC version since it came out. This game should have been game of the year over all. On PS3, it looks like a new game with the included expansion that X360 and PC have to pay for! It’s a drop dead gorgeous game in 1080P!

X360? Well I am just hoping the 65nm chip comes out before Mass Effect is released, so can buy another X360. Bio Shock I think should be out Aug. 21st and these two will be must have games on X360! Even more than Halo 3!!!
