FEAR Gripping PS3 Next Month

fear.jpgThough it was intended to be a Euro PS3 launch title, Sierra had delayed F.E.A.R. for the console to make it more optimized for the console. The company has announced that the game will hit stores on April 24 in North America.

A PS3 port of the critically praised horror-FPS, F.E.A.R. will feature multiplayer support for up to 16 players via the PlayStation Network; an Instant Action mode – a new arcade style mode where player progress can be tracked via leader boards; and an exclusive level and weapon for the console.

F.E.A.R. is also available on PC and Xbox 360.

Even though this game came out on the PC in 2005 it is still a must have purchase … I have it for my 360 as well. I wonder if the extra level and the extra weapon are different from the ones in the 360 version. Hopefully someone who has a PS3 will let us know once it ships. I can imagine there are some PS3 owners who didn’t have a powerful enough PC to really enjoy playing so this will be welcomed by them.

I played it on my PC, Anuban! So will probably use that money on games like Spiderman 3, MLB The Show, SOCOM Navy Seals, Rainbow6 Vegas, Heavenly Sword and Lair on PS3!

But Fear was an Excellent game on PC!!! And for X360 I’ve been telling people X360 games play be better than PC!!! Don’t know anyone that’s played the other platform versions so hopefully I’m right about Fear. Did play Rainbow6 Vegas on X360 and it impressed me more than Gears! or at least as much!!!

Yeah … F.E.A.R. does indeed run really well on the 360. Still if you have a fairly high end PC it can still look better on the PC since you can do soft shadows and have a 1600×1200 plus resolution and a greater level of AF. And yes I also liked R6V a lot more than Gears but you have to admit that the graphics in R6V are not as good as they should have been. I mean the cars on the street when you first arrive in Vegas look horrible … they look like regular Xbox graphics. And some of the models are awful. I think they could have taken some notes from Gears when it comes to the visuals but the gameplay mechanics are far more satisfying. Especially the cover mechanic. Talk about a night and day difference.
