Dreamcast and Saturn no More

April 2nd, 2007 Posted in Business, Hardware

Not that we really need another reminder about just how dead the Saturn and Dreamcast now are, but Sega will no longer be supporting the consoles. That means if your console breaks, as of September 28th 2007, Sega doesn’t care! Personally, I’m a little bit surprised to hear they are still fixing malfunctioning consoles as it is, but if you desperately need yours repaired, now would be the time to do it. Japanese gamers were still being treated to the occaisional release that snuck out, but with the lack of production of GD ROMs those are now put to a halt as well. Surely the limited number of consoles sold will shortly yield these consoles to be hot collector items, so having one in working condition isn’t the worst thing in the world.
