mtv-logo.jpgMTV is jumping into the MMOG arena: 10tacle sends word that it has partnered with Viacom to launch its own “multi-user 3D online world” in 2008, using various brands and assets owned by MTV.

Starting next year, users will be able to log on to the “3D world” and access, among other things, the classic content offered by MTV. It will also offer a large number of online games, though no details were provided. 10tacle will manage the technical implementation and operation the MMOG.

The initial licensing agreement has been signed for five years, with an extension option. Licenses have been provided for European countries, as well as Asia.

Although no exact release date was offered, the impact of this MMOG will undeniably be huge. Second Life is surely going to face some serious competition from Sony (PS3 Home) and MTV.
