A poll conducted by Harris reveals some rather interesting information about video game addiction in the United States. The survey consisted of nearly 1,200 people. The results indicate that 8.5% are clinically addicted to video games, while 23% feel that they are addicted.
Some other data includes how much gamers play. Boys, ages 8-12, generally spend 16 hours per week playing games, while their 13 to 18-year-old counterparts spend 18 hours gaming each week. They are also supposedly “more likely to perform more poorly in school, get into physical fights and/or be physically heavier.” People with game consoles in their bedrooms were reported to have lower grades than the people who did not have consoles in their bedrooms.

2Again it’s a parent’s roll to make sure their kid is up with their homework etc before spending time on games. I hope they don’t try to blame game companies on this.

4why don’t they do a study on cell phones? Those are even worse. Its a parent’s responsibility to make sure their kid is doing homework as much as it is their responsibility that they are driving safe enough to not put their kids in danger.
