John Romero Says PS3, 360 Suck
April 7th, 2007 Posted in Business, PlayStation 3, Wii, Xbox 360
John Romero, the co-founder of id Software, said some rather fanboy-ish interesting things about the current situation of the platform wars.
My prediction is that the game console in the vein of the PS3 and Xbox 360 is going to either undergo a massive rethink or go away altogether. The Wii has the perfect design for a console that doesn’t pretend to be a PC and is geared more toward casual gamers than hardcore gamers. The hardcore gamers are going to either be playing on their PCs or a new PC-like platform that sits in the living room but still serves the whole house over wifi, even the video signal.
Well, of course the man is going to root for the home team, the PC, but he certainly took an attack at Microsoft and Sony.

Yeah, he was the guy who used to make coffee for John Carmack while at ID software, who is the real brains behind ID, as there separate software track record has shown… so why listen to this nobody?

Tidles I know almost everything there is to know about this company. 1 hes a co founder, another hes right… the 360 and ps3 are decent for my sport titles but compared to the pc to rts, rpg, fps, action and the onsoles win on the fighting style games the pc mostly wins.

FPS’s Graphs are surely better on PS3 and 360… but no way shooting only using your thumbs and less of one’s brain is better than FPS on the wii.
May be I have not understand how to have more fun pusing buttons than aiming using real motion towards the action screen.

And yes, John Romero’s comments does not have any content at all. It sounds fanboyish.
