Thompson Sends Bill Gates Angry Letter for VT
April 19th, 2007 by Gibran Nawaz in Articles, Business
It was uncovered recently that there were absolutely no video games in Cho Seung-hui’s possession, Thompson still goes on with his ramblings. He in fact took the liberty to send an angry letter to Bill Gates, saying that he is responsible for the shootings.
‘Several Korean youths who knew Cho Seung Hui from his high school days said he was a fan of violent video games, particularly Counterstrike, a hugely popular online game published by Microsoft, in which players join terrorism or counterterrorism groups and try to shoot each other using all types of guns.’”
Mr. Gates, your company is potentially legally liable the harm done at Virginia Tech. Your game, a killing simulator, according to the news that used to be in the Post, trained him to enjoy killing and how to kill. You knew five years ago that your on-line game, Counterstrike, so clearly figured in the massacre by a student in Erfurt that the event and the game impacted the race for Chancellor in Germany at the time!
Yet, here you are, five years after “Erfurt,” still marketing Counterstrike. having done nothing to disable the server(s) for this mass murder simulator, and it looks like “Virginia Tech” is a consequence. There’s more going on in the world than Vista. Just ask the bereaved Virginia Tech families.
Mr. Gates, pull the plug on Counterstrike today, or do we need more dead to convince you? “Virginia Tech” was the 9-11 of school shootings, and it appears Microsoft is in the middle of it, in more ways than one.
Once again, there were no video games found in Cho’s possession, yet the rant goes on. I doubt Bill Gates has the time to look over this letter and point out the several mistakes and flaws. Until then, hopefully Thompson will finally see the light.

Thompson’s letter is hilarious.. He obviously doesn’t know anything about games, the gaming market, the companies..

The reason he’s such a joke is that he blatantly ignores all the evidence to the contrary and will not listen to anyone else’s point of view unless in backs up his own.

Is this letter real? Where have you got this letter from? I’m really doubting Jack Thompson, no matter how JACK he is, would send such a letter.

I’m going to have to go with Kaiser on this one, this letter is way too insane to be real.
If somebody sent me a letter like this, I’d have to seriously consider calling the police because it was obviously written by a raving lunatic.

First off, Microsoft is not the publisher of HL, its Seirra in 1998, (Which got acquired by Vivendi) what more funny is, the guy never actually own any game as reported by the invetigation team. Moreover, to see this guy asking Bill Gate to pull the plug on counter strike makes me laugh. He should write a letter to CEO of Vivendi, who supposly live in France…….

[...] 9, and reversing that, we get 9, 11 or 9/11. Perhaps there’s more to the Viriginia Tech “9/11 of school shootings” meme than the simple hypnotic linking of one media-disseminated trauma to a previous [...]

Yeah this is too far fetched. Besides I heard that Jack Thompson was taking a break from all this for a bit. I have it on good authority, a friend of mine said he saw it on the internet, maybe you’ve heard of it? The internet?
