Guitar Hero Sequels

How many times will you buy the same game? Well if you really like it, you might subscribe to it every year. That’s certainly what Red Octane is hoping as they will now milk the franchise for everything it is worth. The Guitar Hero will receive yearly sequels much in the way of Mario Party or any sports franchise you can think of.

This one I have to question though. Sure, Guitar Hero 3 will be the one developed ground up for next gen consoles, but after that why the need for yearly updated sequels. They obviously aren’t going to make us buy new guitars every year (well I hope they won’t). They likely won’t mess with the formula that much either. So, this seems like a questionable move as the only benefit is new songs, which can be downloaded online.

But heck, if you really love guitar hero, like many do, it will still be a no brainer purchase every year!
