Lineage 3 Code Stolen
According to Korean newspaper Digital Chosun IIibo, source code of NCSoft’s upcoming MMO Lineage III was stolen by former employees and sold to an unnamed Japanese competitor. This is believed to have been done when the ex-employees provided examples of their work during a series of job interviews with the other company in February; they are also believed to have played a part in the leak of the Lineage III program design late last year.
South Korea-based NCSoft projects losses of more than 1 trillion Korean won (US$1 billion) from the theft. The company is also said to be going through troubled times: according to industry insiders, the dismissal of a senior game developer as a result of poor leadership skills caused most of the company’s 90-person development team to quit. There are also internal struggles within NCSoft, though details are unknown.

This is very unfortunate. Lineage 2 was one of the best MMORPGs ever made. It was the only one that had many aspects of hardcore and quality time spent. I REALLY hope they can get their act together and get this title released soon.

Ncsoft has its faults there have been leaked versions of Lineage II from C1. and over 1000 private servers offering a free gameplay enviroment. not to mention Ncsofts lack of in game patroling causing the population of bots to increase to a dangerous level. There Tech support feels like they hired a bunch of high school drop outs and often fail at fixing certain problems that are considered easy.
All in all if Ncsoft wants to stay alive the new Aion will have to be a hit but i doubt it will considering reverse engineers such as L2J team who use the client to mirror the files and create a java based server.
there are a ton of pirated problems i could go over non of which i will say is right by all means i believe NCsoft should shut down every operation. I want to see Aion succeed and beat the immortal WoW.
but lets hope that after the hype clears there is still a big enough US fan base. i know the korean fan base for NCsoft is still strong but it will take both sides of the ocean to make it set in stone.
good bye and i hope my words help and if NCsoft is reading this , go take out the piracy with your content go get your IP back, and stop in game bots with any means you can. and that will make your games better than they was to start with.
