Rumor: Home Beta Roll-Out
May 4th, 2007 by Brian Lockhart in Online, PlayStation 3
It’s a little bit hard to tell what exactly is going on with Playstation Home, but according to some posters on the Official Playstation forum, the option to download the Beta Home version has already started popping up. We do know that a select few were invited into a closed Beta a week or so back, but it seems like the doors may very well soon be opened to the masses. There has been no official comment on the matter, but an early showing of Home could be just what Sony needs to re-light interest in the PS3. While GDC did prove positive for the company, the positive press has since dwindled back again.

Who cares about PS3 Home, it’s just ripped off idea of Wii’s Mii Channel. PS3 Home is going to suck and plus nobody’s buying a PS3 just for the PS3 Home, this is a lame idea to attract new customers.

It going in phases! Home has been in development for quite sometime PS3sucks dude. Even before Wii anounced the Wii or anything else new. You Wiisnots are all the same, you think the piece of junk you got out of a box of cracker jacks invented gaming. Well at least reading trash like you write gets me laughing. LOL
Anyway I got a initial invite then a notification that the preliminary stage was filled. But it told me to hang on as this will be opened up in stages or waves. As they brought more Server Nodes online. In this system there will be just 1 Master Server, with a Nodial Network spread around the globe. So it won’t be anything like say WoW which is not on this type of system, so you may hook up one time and see a friend and if you don’t hit the right server or if you change servers, you end up with different people on line at different times.
PS3 Home will be done more like “EVE Online” where everyone is all interconnected at all times. They may even be using that new MMO IBM Server Setup that uses a combination of Cell BE and AMD processors for a monster live setup!
