We reported earlier that Starcraft 2 would be soon revealed on May 19th at the Blizzard Worldwide Invitation. But, according to some sources, the game will not be a sequel, but instead a spinoff in the style of an MMO.
Since Blizzard is making this, we can assume that it will be made in the same addictive formula as World of Warcraft. But will WoW players have enough heart to abandon their subscription to the game for the new Starcraft rendition, or will their wallets be able to handle both? It is also possible that the game will be delayed for a few years and then never released, which is also a formula Blizzard uses (i.e. Starcraft: Ghost).
It may dissapoint many RTS fans that the much anticipated sequel won’t be coming anytime soon, including me, but there’s always more money in subscription based games, giving the will for publishers to release more in-demand games. Everything will be known come the 19th.
