DS Receiving Final Fantasy IV Remake

May 9th, 2007 Posted in Nintendo DS, RPG

How many different ways can Square-Enix milk a franchise? More importantly, how many times will we re-buy it? After the successful preformance of Final Fantasy III, which received a graphical 3D overhaul on the DS, it seems only natural that the RPG-centric company would follow it up with another remake. I am actually curious to find out if Square actually has any unknown announcements left for their party this weekend, or if they have all be leaked out.

Final Fantasy IV should be receiving a rather similar treatment that the previous game did last year, and it is very likely that it will sell well for what it is, an old game with a nice graphical make-over on a portable system. Square-Enix sure knows how to make a good buck, but probably the most amusing thing is that they only just released this game for the Gameboy Advance a year and a half ago.

FFIV is one of my favorite of the series. I cannot wait for this remake and I hope they end up remaking FFVI too. The only issue I have is that Cecil looks kind of weird in those screenshots. I was hoping he’d look more serious and less cartoony like FF3. But we’ll see.

my favorite game was FF7, that was my first FF and fell in love with it instantly.
