Likely not the most shocking conclusion of the day, we should be expecting to see more appearances of the Rabbids from Rayman Raving Rabbids in the future. This world comes after the conclusion of the Xbox 360 version recently released, whose title screen ends with, “The End?”. The Rabbids have been a huge franchise success, easily outshining Rayman who was meant to be the title character. Rayman has been around the block a few times, but you can bet that the interest the game received probably had more to do with his evil nemesis’ then the tried and true protagonist himself.
It’s hard to say in what form the game will appear in the future. We may be stuck with Rayman, or the Rabbids may take on a game of their own. While Rayman really doesn’t bother me either way, I’d prefer to see a more fleshed out title then simply a compilation of minigames. Don’t get me wrong, some of the minigames were awesome and could be developed in to complete titles themselves, especially in conjunction with the Wii, but I miss that certain platforming element expected in the Rayman franchise. But then again, we already established this really wasn’t a Rayman game afterall. The title screen did appear in the end of the 360 game, which is the most recent. However the game has nearly moved a million units on the Wii, which was the system it was originally developed for. Most likely we’ll see the same strategy for a sqeuel.
Long live our bunny overlords!
