Halo 3 Beta Delayed - Users Pissed (Update)
May 16th, 2007 by James Hyde in Action, Adventure, FPS, Multiplayer, Offbeat, Online, Software, Xbox360
Owners of Crackdown waiting to play the Halo 3 beta (including myself) will apparently have to wait for now. There is an issue with the beta download, which is still not available for Crackdown users. Players who have the beta by other means are playing right now.
Bungie has acknowledged the problem saying they are working on a fix. They better be, there are over 1/2 million Crackdown owners with beta access, I got the feeling that things are gonna get a bit crowded when everyone begins to download the 800 MB beta. Stay tuned for updates.
UPDATE 1: It seems now that some mirrors are up and running, and that certain regions can download the beta from the Crackdown menu, however, it is unconfirmed in the U.S. and most of Europe.
UPDATE 2: Bungie now reports that they have found a solution to the problem and that people should be able to download the beta in “3-6 hours”.
UPDATE 3: The beta is now available for download for Crackdown users. Download speed is pretty decent on the 900 MB file.
