Sega is the next in a slowly growing list of developers to incense Epic’s Unreal Engine 3. An interesting trend is developing, but one that definitely in the end is positive for us as end users. While the initial licensing costs may be steep, developers purchasing the engine have shown commitment, and the results stand. Capcom and Square Enix also recently purchased the license, but Sega will be using it for several projects here in North America. No details on the projects have yet been unearthed, but they’ll probably look amazing when they do surface.

1Wow, I’ve gotta say. I am becoming more and more impressed with what the Unreal3 engine can do. Anyone else as excited as I am for it?

2It’s a nice engine but it’s the team behind the game that make it great, not the engine.
