I just purchased Guitar Hero 2 directly from Red Octane (yes, that’s what I had to resort to), and while it has made it’s cross America, and now across borders journey to be only one hour away (stupid long weekend), I can’t help but think how expensive it is. For intents and purposes, buying guitar hero is like having to buy everything except the console all over again. And while some consoles are deceptively cheap, you have to buy all the controllers and peripheral devices that can really catch up, than just the core package.

Thankfully, Harmonix has realized these hidden costs as they go to produce Rock Band. Ryan Lesser the art director has dismissed rumors that the game would cost between 150-200 US, thank god! While Rock Band will force us to buy even more peripheral devices to get the full experience, it is nice to know that our wallets won’t suffer as a result.
