wcg2k7-usa.jpgThe World Cyber Games have announced the dates for the WCG US Open: it will take place June 2-3 at the Samsung Experience in New York City. The two day competition kicks off the American leg of the global tournament, which will end with the Grand Final this October in Seattle, Washington. US gamers will compete in ten games for PC and Xbox 360, including Starcraft, Warcraft III, Counter-Strike, NFS Carbon, Gears of War and more.

The US Open will see gamers compete for honor, as well as more than $20,000 in cash and prizes. Winners of certain games will also receive roundtrip airfare and hotel accommodations to Cancun, Mexico to compete in the WCG Pan-American Championships, which will take place June 22-24 and will see professional gamers from 10 different countries in North and South America playing 8 of the WCG official game titles.

The US Open will also feature interactive product demonstrations and giveaways from tournament sponsors; spectators and local gamers are invited to compete in Tony Hawk’s Project 8 for an automatic berth and a free trip to the WCG USA National Final in September.

The complete schedule, as well as a list of players and games, can be found on the tournament’s US site.
