Variety reports that Jieho Lee is in talks to direct the upcoming Kane & Lynch film coming from Lionsgate. Lee has directed several short films; he also wrote and directed The Air I Breathe, a full-length film.
As per the report, Lionsgate has commissioned two scripts, one from Kyle Ward and another from Lee and Bob DeRosa, who worked with him on The Air I Breathe. Ward is known for producing the 2005 short film 3 Rounds, and recently had a script optioned by Michael Bay’s Platinum Dunes. Shooting is set to begin sometime this Fall using one of the two scripts, though it is not known which script will be chosen.
The movie is being produced by Adrian Askarieh and Daniel Altar, with Howard Sun co-producing. The former two are already in production on the Hitman film adaptation, which is set for release this October.
