Crysis is constrantly trying to prove the Direct X 10 format. While it’s hard to argue the format is superior, it’s not as easy to visualize the differences. Thankfully, Crysis developers have met that call with a comparison of the game running in both formats. It’s pretty easy to see that DX10 is the next big thing and for good reasons.

Good one, there are other comparison videos too, all showing how lightning, shadows and particle effects are at a whole new level in DX10. Crysis is the only thing that’s going to make me upgrade my hardware and OS. Can’t wait .)

Yes it does really look amazing with DX10 but heck the DX9 version is really hot as well so I probably won’t rush to upgrade. But it is nice to know that when I do the game will look (and hopefully play) even better.

There is no way I will be able to upgrade my system to DX10 until next year .. but I am replacing my FX-57 with an Opteron 185 so I will be able to play things on high settings with DX9 and my 7950 GX2. But yeah the more I look at DX10 the more I wish I could afford to get a 8800 Ultra .. but with so many Wii and 360 and PC games coming and also I would like to get the last of the 60 GB PS3s … there is just no money for a major quad core overhaul with the Best version of Vista.
