PS3/PSP Firmware Update

June 3rd, 2007 Posted in Hardware, PSP, PlayStation 3, Software by Brian Lockhart

The Sony branded consoles seem to receive updates more often then imaginable, but it’s rare when something worthwhile slips into these updates. Today’s 3.5 includes the long anticipated remote play features for the PSP. Now you can access everything stored on your PS3 remotely, such as movies, music and pictures, from anywhere with a wireless connection. That’s definitely a great feature and something that adds quite a bit of value to the PS3 on the go. While the UMD format has flopped and been swept under the rug, storing and downloading content via the PS3 makes a bit more sense for the current setup.

You also now have the ability to access RSS feed indexes from the PSP as well. Finally the Playstation store couldn’t go left alone receiving downloadable title Championship Sprint, as well as a few free trailers and tutorials. Check them out… remotely… with your PSP!
