Games at Retail this Week
Thank god for the digital online era. Without it we’d be force to realize how obscenely bad this time of year can be for new releases. Normally we’d at least have sugar plumbs and E3 to dream of, or at least all the aftermath, but even that has been delayed. While the three console online stores are receiving new games, and even celebrating anniversaries, the only thing worth celebrating in retail is Lara Croft. Lara Croft, the favourably proportioned lead character of Tomb Raider celebrates her 10 anniversary through a collection of games released on the PS2.
The PS3 and Wii are notably absent, while the 360 receives a title I’m not all too familiar with. But probably the most exciting thing is that the DS is FINALLY receiving the web browser that has been available for a long time in Japan. Although I must warn you, if you do decide you need web browsing technology on your portable, you probably won’t be too surprised why it took so long to come to North America. The hardware certainly isn’t optimal speed wise. So it’s probably better off to not search for pictures of Angelina Jolie on the DS, and just stick with the collection.
