Wii Still Rolling: Outsold PS3 8:1 Last Week
June 8th, 2007 by James Hyde in Business, Hardware, Nintendo DS, PC, PlayStation 2, PlayStation 3, Wii, Xbox360
In respect to the Japanese market, the Wii continues to completely dominate its main rival. It outsold the PS3 5:1 last month, and the first week of June, it outsold Sony’s console 8:1. The raw numbers:
DS Lite: 123,140
Wii: 69,748
PSP: 26,358
PS2: 11,814
PS3: 8,998
Xbox 360: 2,219
The PS3 has been consistently selling less than 10,000 units a week over the pat few weeks, and has been outsold by the PS2 the whole time. There’s no need to clarify the issue any longer: Sony needs to do something, everyone knows this, and they probably have something in mind. They must have something in mind.

That’s 31:1 for 360….. well I think it will be less “bias” if we compare that to the 360 number also dont you think? ……..

Yeah, but everyone knows that the Xbox brand holds about as much power as a gnat in Japan.

THUNDERMARE: They’re comparing the main competitors, and since the 360 isn’t really competing in Japan, it doesn’t make sense to compare it with the others.
