Battlefield Coming To Korea

dEA is teaming up with Korean partner Neowiz to create a version of Battlefield (2142 we suppose) to the Korean market. The two companies have already worked together before, releasing one of the most popular online games in Korea, FIFA Online, with almost 5 million registered members.

The Battlefield game will be developed by DICE Stockholm, creators of BF2 and BF2142, teaming up with Neowiz to create the Korean version, which, at this time, there is no further information about. EA’s Patrick Soderlund said,

“We’ve seen the success of the Battlefield community in Europe and North America, and are excited to start working with the talented team at Neowiz Games to develop the game for Asia. This is a great opportunity for the Battlefield franchise to create a new online experience with rich, streamlined game play and mass market appeal.”

This move will surely raise some eyebrows, as both Battlefield 2 and 2142 remain bug filled at this point. For EA to spend resources creating a new version of the game instead of focusing on properly supporting the existing players will further feed the hostility towards the company.
